Economic Crisis , Unemployability ,has hit the youths at a larger sacale worldwide recording an increase in the Global Unemployment rate and is likely to grow more, said the International Labour Organisation. The world is having 620mn economically active youth of age group varying from 15 and 24,and shockingly  81 mn were having no work or out of work by 2009 end, which is the ever highest number recorded, according to a report by the International Labour Organisation (ILO). During economic C... For the first time in last two years, TCS now plans to hire fresh engineering graduates even through off-campuses. TCS has increased its hiring target for the fiscal from 10,000 to 40,000 because of the rebound in demand for IT services. “Of the incremental 10,000, 65 per cent will be engineering freshers who will come through the off-campus hiring programme. At the Nasscom HR summit 2010, held at Chennai, Mr. Som Mittal, the President of Nasscom said, “There has been a 6-fold increase in direct employment. The number of direct employees in 2001 was around 4.3 lakh and now it has zoomed up to 23 lakh in 2010.” He added, “The contribution of the private sector in this regard has seen a 3-fold increase.  Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL), a state-run telecom giant, plans to hire 10,000 employees in next two years in its sales and marketing division. Presently having 350,000 employees, BSNL was suggested by Sam Pitroda panel to cut down this number by 100,000. Wipro is the third largest software services exporter in India, after Tata Consultancy Services and Infosys. According to top official of MindTree Ltd, they are expecting to hire around 3,500 people in the financial year 2011. During the first six months of 2010, Online hiring activity by Indian companies has risen around 42 per cent. According to the Monster Employment Index, it climbed by 42 per cent to 135 in June this year as compared to 95 in December 2009. Online hiring in the IT industry during January-June period registered 66 per cent growth, followed by the sector comprising of engineering, cement, construction, iron and steel, which grew by 48 per cent.
